The author does a decent job of giving a history of Boudicca, but the book is dry and can be tedious to read at times. While I understand that there is very little historical documentation and limited sources from which to draw information about Boudicca's life, the author tends to spend more time talking about the Romans and Roman Boudicca book rather than the Celts/5(22).
This is a great book that give far more details than Boudica herself. It gives information about the time before and after the Iceni rebellion (war) against the Romans occupying Britain. It's a historical book not a novel and in my opinion one of the best about the enigmatic character who defied Rome for two years/5(34).
