Kodachrome is the brand name for a color reversal film introduced by Eastman Kodak in It was one of the first successful color materials and was used for both cinematography and still photography. For many years Kodachrome was widely used for professional color photography, especially for images intended for publication in print : Eastman Kodak.

Analog film lovers rejoice: Kodak’s long-awaited revival of its Ektachrome slide film is finally here. The camera company is beginning its rollout with the 35mm version of the film Author: Jon Porter. The colors still look brilliant in this 15th century Book of Hours /JHU Sheridan Libraries/Gado. The good news is that today’s Ektachrome is a totally different animal. In the mid s, Kodak came out with E6, their newest development process. That’s the process they’ll use on Ektachrome film when you buy it later this year (and yes, you will buy it).

I had a few rolls of EKTACHROME SW and one box with 10 sheets of 4×5 Professional Plus. Both were expired beyond at least 15 years. Lucky enough, I found out that slide film ages very well or not much at all. Except for a little blueish hue (which is easy to adjust after scanning), all is well, the film speed is also more or less the same.   Kodak stopped production of Ektachrome SW in and all Ektachrome film in Just a few months ago a brand new Kodak Ektachrome film was released, although I have not tried it yet. A Fuji X Weekly reader, Ilya Struzhkov, took my Kodachrome II recipe and made a simple modification: he used Velvia instead of Classic Chrome.

Ektachrome E is no different from old school slide films in that it’s a difficult, inflexible film meant for the more experienced shooter (or at least one who has a reliable camera with an accurate metering system, and a general understanding of light).

The Making of EKTACHROME Film. In January ofwe announced that KODAK EKTACHROME Film would be coming back to the market.

On this episode of The Kodakery podcast, we share updates from the factory leading up to the market release in October Ektachrome was the first slide film I’ve ever tried.

I bought a few rolls the day it came out and left on a trip to Arizona the next day. I shot Ektachrome in my Nikon F2 and Fujichrome Provia in my Mamiya Pro TL at the same time while hiking through Lockett Meadow.

Needless to say, for it being a first attempt, I went all in and bet everything would turn out alright. Kodak Ektar is a film I shoot often and I don’t overexpose that either. Basically I shot this slide film the way I would shoot Ektar and I had good results. I shot Kodak Ektar alongside some of the Kodak Ektachrome E slide film so I could compare the two films in.

Kodak is proud to announce the return of one of the most iconic film stocks of all time. KODAK EKTACHROME.

Kodak will produce EKTACHROME at its film factory in Rochester, N.Y., and will market and distribute the Super 8 motion picture film version of EKTACHROME Film directly. Kodak Alaris, an independent company sincealso plans to offer a still format KODAK PROFESSIONAL EKTACHROME Film for photographers in x format.

Kodak Ultramax Kodak Ultramax is a film that somehow always manages to sneak its way into at least one of my cameras. It’s cheap and available nearly everywhere, and truly does a great job in just about every situation (for proof, check out our in-depth film profile on the stuff).

On the outside, Ultramax isn’t anything to shout about. The film is known for its extremely fine grain, clean colors, great tones and contrasts. Kodak will produce EKTACHROME at its film factory in Rochester, N.Y., and will market and distribute the Super 8 motion picture film version of EKTACHROME Film directly.

Kodak Alaris, an independent company sincealso plans to offer a still format. In late July of I was contacted by Kodak Alaris about beta testing their new reboot of Kodak Ektachrome E Color Reversal Film. I had 10 rolls to shoot and tried to get as much variety as I.

Kodak announced Ektachrome E's triumphant return to production a few years ago, and, for the past couple of years, the film has been available for 35mm and Super 8 shooters.

Finally, at the end ofKodak has brought this much-missed film back to and 4 x 5" sizes. At last, larger format photographers have a "new" film to fawn over; a medium contrast, moderate saturation color Reviews: 2. Make Offer - KODAK VERICHROME FILM Self-Serve Duo-Pak Display Board – Approx.
